Opportunities with Blue Planet

The Program Director serves in the key role in strategizing, researching, developing, and executing Blue Planet’s clean energy programs and projects and supporting policy development. This broad technical and management position requires a creative, high-energy leader to develop and implement energy efficiency, renewable energy, transportation, and community engagement programs; manage the project activities of staff members; collaborate with clean energy partners; research program and policy innovations; analyze data from program or policy work; present to community groups and media; oversee community engagement efforts; and strategize and develop new opportunities for Blue Planet to effectively catalyze clean energy change. The ideal candidate has an advanced degree (or equivalent) in science or engineering; extensive experience in project management, development, and implementation; a deep understanding of renewable energy and energy efficiency issues (with a particular focus on residential efficiency, transportation, or utility regulation); an understanding social and cultural issues in Hawai‘i; an intense curiosity and creativity, and willingness to plunge into unfamiliar disciplines; and possesses a positive, team-oriented, enthusiastic attitude.
