Replacing eight old-style 60-watt incandescent bulbs with 13-watt compact fluorescents (CFLs) will save you about $103 per year.
 

CFL Exchange Program

Blue Planet Foundation is directing a team of volunteers who are visiting communities around Oahu offering non-suspecting residents 2-free CFL light bulbs in return for old-style incandescents. Already hundreds of residents have accepted the offer and are using electricity more efficiently. A CFL bulb produces the same amount of light as an old bulb but takes only about ¼ of the electricity. Along with up to two brand-new eco-bulbs, residents are provided with energy saving tips.
